Asunción

Palacio de Gobierno

Begun in 1860, but not completed until 1892, the Palacio de Gobierno was intended
as a residence for Francisco Solano López, who died in the War of the Triple Alliance.

Plaza de los Héroes

In addition to housing the Pantéon de los Héroes, a mausoleum for the country's greatest military figures,
several of whom led the country into disastrous wars, the plaza is a venue for all manner of vendors.

Filadelfia

Hauptstrasse

Filadelfia is the administrative and service center for the Mennonite farmers of the Fernheim
colony (1930), one of three Mennonite colonies, the others being the Menno colony (1927)
and the Neuland colony (1947, founded by Ukrainian-German Mennonites).

Mennonite Cooperative

Indians from the Nivaclé, Lengua and Ayoreo indigenous groups wait to be picked up for a day's work on one of the Mennonite farms.

Museo Unger

The Museo Unger tells the story of the Fernheim colony from its founding in 1930 to the present.
